The Full Story

About Cedar Maine

Cedar Maine was built on the strength and experience of two established Maine mills — Gerrity Industries in Leeds and Sebasticook Lumber in St. Albans.

For years, Gerrity Industries has specialized in pallet production, known for efficiency, precision, and dependable service. Sebasticook Lumber has operated primarily as a hardwood mill, supplying quality lumber throughout the region. Together, these sister mills provide the manufacturing foundation behind Cedar Maine.

How Cedar Maine Began

We saw an opportunity to step in and continue the tradition of high-quality Maine cedar fencing. With access to Eastern White Cedar and the milling capabilities already in place, we expanded operations and launched The Good Fence Company of Maine and Cedar Maine— bringing another source for locally milled cedar fencing and lumber to the market.

From Log to Finished Product

Our process begins at our Sebasticook Lumber location in St. Albans, where Eastern White Cedar logs are milled into cants. Those cants are then transported to our Gerrity Industries facility in Leeds, where they are processed into finished lumber and fencing products.

By utilizing both mills, we maintain control over quality at every stage — from raw log to finished product.

What We Produce

At our Gerrity location, Cedar Maine manufactures a full line of Eastern White Cedar products, including:

  • Planed Lumber

  • Rough Lumber

  • Shiplap

  • V-Joint

  • Balusters

  • 5/4 Eased Edge Decking

  • Privacy Fence Panels

  • Cedar Shingles

In addition to our standard inventory, we also produce handcrafted cedar items such as flower boxes, chairs, and other custom wood products. We also carry a wide variety of additional lumber and specialty items to meet the needs of contractors, homeowners, and builders.

Built in Maine. Built to Last.

Cedar Maine is committed to producing high-quality, locally milled Eastern White Cedar products with the reliability and craftsmanship that Maine is known for.
